College Preparation

At the heart of New England Academy’s mission is to prepare students for college. New England Academy students experience a college preparatory curriculum coupled with direct college preparation.

Junior and senior level students work directly with the guidance counselor to navigate the college admissions process. Students meet one-on-one with the guidance counselor and go through a College Planning course during both their Junior and Senior years so that they can begin to explore their interest areas and future areas of study. This course also assists students in previewing colleges that may be a potential fit for their areas of interest, their school size preference and their future field of study.

To assist with the nationwide college search process, New England Academy partners with a national college search agency, Educational Options, LLC. Renee and Marvin Goldberg have over 25-years of college planning experience for special needs students and work collaboratively with the New England Academy team to find the right college fit for students.

In addition to college exploration in the classroom setting New England Academy has college representatives visit to review their college, programs of study and to answer questions students may have. Additionally, as part of the year round school experience, New England Academy staff and students will visit colleges throughout the area.
